Traveling Day #1: Invasion of Winterstorm Thor...

After a delicious breakfast at Cracker Barrel with Ryan's family, we hit the road around 9:30am

It was a wee bit rainy but not too bad:

After about an hour or so, the roads started getting icy. This is when we started seeing some car wrecks:

We finally got to Crossville around 11am

Our average speed due to the ice and slush was around 55-60mph. Needless to say, we haven't made much progress in terms of mileage.
Ryan and I made a quick pit stop at a local gas station. We were amazed at the sight of our ice covered cars!

We stopped at McD's to get a tea, check out the news/weather and reevaluate our route. This is about the time we find out that every city and interstate that we need to drive through is either iced over or closed...EVERY..single..one of them.
The word frustrated does not even come close to how we were feeling. Our plan was to get to Columbia,MO by 5 or 6pm today. So far, we've only traveled around 200 miles of our 1,400 mile trip.
After a lot of praying, we decided to stay in Lebanon and get a hotel room for the night.
Our frustrations quickly melted away as we watched the awful road conditions plastered on every news station. The interstate in Kentucky we were supposed to travel on is closed, not to mention that thousands of people are stranded in their snow covered vehicles. Instead of being upset about this setback on our journey, we have decided to have a good attitude and be thankful that we are not stranded, nor are our cars wrecked in a ditch somewhere.
We've been covered awesomely with prayer and BOY can we feel all of them!
Thank you, everyone for your prayers. Prayer seriously works.

Well, here's to rolling with the punches...when life hands you lemons...make some tasty lemonade!
Team Rybo may be down for the night but we will get back up and out again in the morning.
Please keep those awesome prayers coming!!
